Welcome to the Secondary School of the International School of Tanganyika. Take a few moments to browse through these pages and learn a little more about our school and programme. IST Secondary School students are provided with many different opportunities to challenge themselves, to push themselves and to experience a quality international education in a leafy, open and inviting campus. Students are able to participate in an extensive after school activities program which includes a variety of sporting and recreational activities as well as a very strong and meaningful Community Service Programme.

IST has a strong tradition of providing quality international education to students from over 50 different countries. The Secondary School has been offering the IB Diploma program for more than 25 years and IST adopted the Middle Year Programme in 2000. You will find more information about these two Programmes and the curriculum that we offer elsewhere on our website.

The Secondary School faculty is comprised of 58 qualified, experienced and excellent teachers who come from 15 different countries, many of them with previous experience in other International Schools from around the world. Our teachers are dedicated and committed to providing the best educational experience for your children and they are supported by a Principal, Vice Principal, Activities and CAS Coordinator, IB Diploma Coordinator, MYP Coordinator and our support staff.

I would like to extend a big welcome to IST for all of our new students for the 2008 – 2009 school year and also I would like to welcome back all of our returning students.
